K’yuchi is a very extroverted and carefree girl who loves music and sports. Her parents are professors at college. Her father is an archeologist and her mother an anthropologist.
When K’uychi was born her mother gave her that name because at that time she was preparing a lecture about pre-Columbian cultures and she learn the word in Quechua (several indigenous ethnic groups in South America who speak a Quechua language (Southern Quechua mainly), belonging to several ethnic groups in South America, especially in Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia and Argentina.) for the word “rainbow” and she knew she’d call her daughter like that.
Kids used to bully her about her name in elementary school and even though she tried to explain them the meaning of her name they just laughed at her. When she went to high school to St. Luke’s she dyed her hair with the colors of the rainbow. Labeled as a weirdo from day one but she didn’t care because she was happy with her new friends at the Athletics club and her volleyball team. She gets along very well with the club’s captain, Rocío and its club members: Francisca, Chuni and Alisha.
K’uychi is a big fan of music and specially pop-music. These days she’s particularly excited because one of her favorite pop bands will present a show in her country! She jumps and sings happily about the news.
